Strategic Advisor

We are seeking a Strategy Advisor to join the team based in New York to focus on originating and executing transactions with Financial Sponsors in the small to lower middle-market.

Our Corporate Advisory Division is an integrated principal investing and advisory platform that provides a broad range of direct investment and investment banking services to small to lower middle-market companies. The Corporate Advisory Division also includes the investment banking group that provides advisory solutions to small and middle-market companies for mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and other broad transactional support to assist companies in their business development efforts.

The Strategic Advisor will be a creative and resourceful deal maker working with Financial Sponsors on both investment banking transactions and principal investing and leveraging the Private Banking model in partnership with the firm’s Investment Bank and lending capabilities. Candidates should be top performers who are willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative, creativity, maturity and proactive enthusiasm for learning and driving business are highly valued. In addition to strong technical skills, the ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, experienced individual with solid investment, M&A and capital raising experience coupled with strong networking skills and a proven track record of originating new business opportunities in the lower middle-market.

Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a proven track record of originating new business opportunities and closing deals in the lower middle market.
  • Demonstrated at least 10 years of track record of successful transaction experience in a private equity firm, leading investment bank, or in corporate development role; ideally with exposure to a diverse range of transaction types and investment  structures
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Proven leadership and management qualities, and a high level of integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent business analytic and quantitative skills combined with outstanding judgment
  • Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership
  • Bilingual preferred

Interships

  • Investment banking interns work closely with analysts and associates on a variety of tasks, including pitchbooks, financial models, and industry research
  • An internship is an opportunity to learn as much as it is to support colleagues
  • No work day is the same and varies depending on whether the team is originating or executing a deal.
  • Interns in investment banking work long hours and can often average anywhere between 70-80 working hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Assisted Managing Directors across the pitch to product delivery process through financial modeling, PowerPoint presentations and industry research.
  • Developed charts/graphs specifically for PowerPoint presentations including sales points, firm history, and client specific information.
  • Customer service is the process of offering assistance to all the current and potential customers -- answering questions, fixing problems, and providing excellent service. The main goal of customer service is to build a strong relationship with the customers so that they keep coming back for more business.
  • Developed and analyzed financial models on a new major capital investment, saving time in decision-making process for senior management.
  • Projected financial models; reviewed quarterly earnings calls and reports and conducted calls with management analyzing consumer and transportation sectors
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skill through evaluating financial statement of Client Company.
  • Demanded strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Led deal sourcing efforts for multiple private equity clients by developing relationships with executives of targeted companies
  • Specialized in Anti Money Laundering Identification and Private Equity Subscription Documents
